From the desk
The Mockingbird is what we recommend when twin parents want a sub-$500 twin stroller that doesn't feel like a sub-$500 twin stroller. It pushes well, folds in one piece, fits standard 30-inch doorways, and converts back to a single if you ever stop being a twin parent (you won't, but the resale value is real).
The fabric is plush, the canopy is generous, and the basket fits a Costco run. The wheels aren't all-terrain, so cobblestones and grass paths are out. The recline is fine but not deep enough for true newborn flat sleep, which is why most twin parents pair it with two infant car seats clicked into the adapter for the first six months, then transition to the seats around month six.
The gotcha is availability. Mockingbird sells direct, with periodic restock waves and waitlists. Don't expect to walk into a baby store and try one. Order two months before you need it.
Why we say buy one
One Mockingbird Single-to-Double covers twin parents through the early years. Not two. The whole point of a twin stroller is that one stroller, two children.

The decision behind this pick
Do I need two strollers for twins?
No. One twin or convertible double stroller is the right answer. Two singles plus a hand doesn't work.
Why
A single twin stroller fits two babies and one parent. Two singles requires two parents. Impractical for solo outings.
When to buy
By month 6 unless you're using two infant car seats on a frame.
