From the desk

The Ergobaby Omni Breeze is the carrier we point to when twin parents want one good carrier per parent (not a tandem twin carrier). Four carry positions, fits newborns through toddlers without an infant insert, and the mesh fabric breathes well in summer.

Twin parents who try tandem carriers (front-and-back, or side-by-side) usually end up using two single carriers more often. One per parent, on parallel walks. Or one parent in the carrier, one parent pushing the stroller with one twin. Or one in the carrier and one in the stroller, swap halfway.

The Omni Breeze is around $200. The Omni 360 (last-gen, no mesh) is around $160 and works fine if you don't live somewhere humid.

Why we say buy two

One carrier per parent. Two of the same brand isn't necessary. Many twin households end up with one Ergo and one alternative (Tula, Beco) by accident, and that's fine.

The decision behind this pick

Do I need two carriers for twins?

Two if both parents will wear; one if you'll trade off. A twin carrier (TwinGo, Weego) wears both at once.

Why

Hands-free carriers are essential when you have two babies and only one parent at home.
