Buy two

From the desk

The Halo Bassinest is the bedside bassinet most twin parents put next to the bed for the first three to four months. It swivels (so the foot of the bassinet can pivot away from the bed for safe placement, or pivot toward you for easy reach), the side wall lowers (so you can reach the baby with one arm without leaning out of bed), and the footprint is compact enough to fit two next to a queen-size bed in most rooms.

For twins, you usually need two. One on each side of the bed, or one beside each parent if you split shifts. Most twin parents who try one bassinet for two babies end up buying the second within two weeks. The "shared one bassinet, take turns" plan rarely survives the first 3am.

The Halo is mid-priced (about $250). The Snoo is the premium alternative if you want active soothing; the Halo is the right call if you want to keep things simple.

Why we say buy two

Two Bassinests, one per twin. Twins shouldn't share a sleep surface (AAP and NHS guidance). One bassinet plus a backup plan is the wrong setup.

Where to buy

Some buy links earn us a small cut, at no extra cost to you. We still recommend skipping plenty of things, so it balances out.

The decision behind this pick

Do I need two Snoos for twins?

Only if budget allows. Two Snoos work; one Snoo + one standard bassinet is the more common compromise.

Why

Snoo is single-baby. Twins each need their own. Many twin parents rent ($160/mo each) instead of buying.

When to buy

By the third trimester so it arrives before discharge.
