From the desk
The Twin Z is the twin nursing pillow we point to first, every time. The shape (a curved horseshoe with two breast supports and a back cushion) lets you tandem-feed two newborns without holding either one with your arms. For breastfeeding twins, that's the difference between a 25-minute tandem feed and a 60-minute serial feed.
It's also the right shape for bottle-feeding twins simultaneously, with a bottle propped on each side of the pillow. Which means it's not a "for breastfeeding moms only" purchase. Both partners use it, both kinds of feeders use it.
It's bulky. It eats half a couch. It comes with a removable cover that you'll wash often. None of that matters in the first three months when a tandem feed buys you 30 minutes of recovered time per session.
Why we say buy one
One Twin Z is enough. Not two. You feed both babies on one pillow, simultaneously. That's the entire design.

The decision behind this pick
Do I need two nursing pillows for twins?
No. Buy one twin-shaped tandem nursing pillow (Twin Z or My Brest Friend Twins).
Why
Tandem feeding requires a single twin-shaped pillow that holds both babies. Two single pillows do not work as well.
When to buy
Before birth. You'll want it from week 1.
